Hope Pavlich – SMB Entrepreneur
Hope graduated from the Institute of Audio Research with a certification in Audio Engineering and earned an honors scholarship for Long Island University C.W. Post, where she achieved a BA in Fine Arts. She has a black belt in Mixed Martial Arts, studying for over 12 years. Hope is a yogi, practicing Vinyasa, YIN, and Astanga yoga, and all help her connect to her truest self and highest potential.
After graduating from LIU, Hope was hired as an assistant audio engineer at Sony Music Studios and worked for industry greats like Dave Chappell, Robin Williams, Mark Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, and P-Diddy.
She was introduced to the Video Game Industry at Sony Music Studios, by working with Electronic Arts, recording dialog for NBA Live 2004 with Marv Albert and Mike Fratello.
She was later hired by Electronic Arts as a Dialog Designer and learned how to produce, record, and implement dialog for video games. Her passion for learning and growing helped her to level up in the video game industry enabling her to move vertically into larger and higher level positions for companies such as Sony Playstation in Foster City CA and Santa Monica CA, Sucker Punch Productions, Machine Zone as well as others. She’s worked as a Dialog Supervisor, Lead Producer, Script Supervisor, and Director of LiveOps Design. Ultimately, she identified most as a Producer/Project Manager because of her ability to work with the team to drive business outcomes.
Her passion was working with the creatives Producing stories for video games. Hope’s greatest career breakthrough was in her role as a Director of LiveOps Design at Machines Zone where she led a team of designers and writers while driving game design that helped retain and convert players, as well as generated revenue for the company.
Throughout her video game career, Hope dabbled in start-up entrepreneurship.
Intending to create an application that would pair cleaners with clients, Hope launched and ran a cleaning business in Los Angeles called Mindfulness Cleaning.
Leveraging her experience and passion for product development and her interest in e-commerce, Hope developed two products that she sold on Amazon; a back posture corrector, and (with a partner) a bird figurine.
Lastly, Hope is the creator and host of the podcast Goddess in Gaming. She created this podcast to honor the women in the gaming industry.
After starting up and sunsetting these businesses, Hope acknowledged that her corporate jobs paid too well for her to turn them away and focus 100% on a startup. Startups would take multiple years to generate revenue (if at all) while using her savings to fund her living expenses, it simply wasn’t feasible… until she learned about entrepreneurship through acquisition, focusing on small and medium businesses, which brings us to today…
Hope wants to own and operate a business because she believes it represents freedom and not without capability, responsibility, accountability, and drive. She is self-funding this search, full-time, to acquire a business by July 2024.
